Christmas Time! Santa Visits Mayson!

This is the first year we have not been able to go home for Christmas. It has been hard not being with family, but our little family out here has had such an amazing day. Last night after Mayson went to bed Mike and I made Christmas treats. It was so much fun to show our teamwork and make some yummy treats.

Peppermint Bark, Peanut Butter Fudge, Lemon Cookies, and Sugar Cookies

Mike and I also did a lot of crafting to make our house look like Christmas. Since Mayson is into EVERYTHING we moved out our dining room table to make room for the Christmas tree. Here are a few pictures of our Christmas tree, Santa's cookie table, and some of the framed art work we made.

(sorry it's a little blurry)

Of course Mayson had to get new Christmas pajamas. His pajamas match his cousin Gabe, maybe next year they can actually have pictures together.

We left cookies and carrots out for Santa and his reindeer. Even a few pieces of candy.

Santa and his reindeer must have loved the treats.

Mayson must have been a very good boy this year. Santa brought him some very fun toys.

Mayson was so excited it was Christmas morning.

Mommy and Mayson cuddling for a few minutes before he goes to see what Santa brought him.

Santa even found Sadie. She got some treats, a few bones, and tennis balls that she has already destroyed.

He loves the car that Santa brought him. It has a remote so that Mommy and Daddy can control it till he gets a little bigger and can do it on his own.

Trucks, trucks, and more trucks!

A few pictures of Mommy and Daddy helping open gifts.

We tried to take a family picture using our remote. It turned out, okay...

After opening Uncle Ryan, Aunt Shell, and Gabe's gift, he plays in the box. He got tons of fun toys and he played in the box, until...

The box tipped over...

Did not phase him...

Cheesing it up in his new car. It is used as a climbing toy mostly.

Christmas Came Early

We got one of our Christmas presents early. We used some of the gift cards that we got to Best Buy from my dad, the gift card I won from Best Buy, and the gift card we got from Mike's work to buy a webcam. I really think this has been one of our best investments. Since we bought the camera we signed up for Skype and MSN Live. With these two programs we have been able to chat with Uncle Nick and Adam, Uncle Nathan and PaPaw Aslinger, and today Jodi. It was so great to be able to actually see the people we are talking to. We haven't seen Jodi since last Christmas. Mayson was chatting it up waving and giving kisses. We are looking forward to using it more to be able to commuicate with friends and family who live thousands of miles away.

Mayson is a BIG Boy!

Today we had a busy day. We ran lots of errands and got a little done. Mayson has been rear facing in his carseat until today. His little legs seemed to be getting too smashed up. I thought he would be a lot more exited to be turned around so he can see Mommy and Daddy. Here are a few pictures. (He had a little spill, his poor little face)

Playing Catch with Daddy

Day 1 of Christmas Break

Today, is the first day of my Christmas Break from school. I am so excited to spend the next 2 weeks off with my boys. Mike will continue to have to work nights but, we have not had 2 weeks off with no particular plans, EVER! I am sad that we will not be heading back to Illinois for Christmas this year. I am excited though to begin some family traditions of our own. I am going to list my goals for break so maybe I will actually be able to get some of them crossed off the list.
- Paint the laundry room, guest bathroom, and maybe just maybe Mike will let me redo Mayson's room.
- Sewing projects for friends and family.
- Begin working out, I have a wedding dress to fit in AH!!

Okay so we will see if any of those actually get done. HAHA!

13 Months Old

My brother informed me tonight that I have not made a December blog post yet. I have been so bad with keeping up. Well, this time last year we were packing up 1 month old baby Mayson and heading to the cold Midwest. One year later we are in 60 degree weather with a 13 month old. This year we will be celebrating Christmas in Las Vegas with just our little family. Mayson will get to wake up to Santa Claus at his house this year. Mayson has been a very good boy this year so it will be very interesting to see what Santa will bring him this year.

Mayson's 13 Month Milestones
- Mayson weighs...I will get this over the weekend.
- Mayson's new thing is that he gives kisses and blows kisses. It melts my heart. He blows me a kiss and waves bye to me in the morning. It makes it very hard to go to work.
- Mayson has really figured out how to climb. He climbs onto the leaning bookshelf daily and he tries to sit on the bottom shelf.
- The doctor informed us at his 1 year check up that his appetite may slow down and that would be normal. Slow down?? He is eating more than ever. He eats everything we eat and sometimes more.
