Shoulder Rides, Suckers!

Well I didn't know Friday's haircut would have to turn into Mayson sitting on his daddy's shoulders, receiving a sucker for each hand and one for his mouth to just get his haircut, but it did. Mike is such an amazing daddy. He set in the chair with Mayson on his shoulders, just so he could get a haircut. It is a little crooked but hey the mullet is gone.

His first sucker, I think he is hooked.

Poor Buddy

Well Mommy was so excited today to take Mayson over to My Gym! I had class all week so it was my first chance to take Mayson to class. Well we got there early so we walked around the District till it was time to start the class. It gave me a little time to window shop and Mayson a little time to run around. Well he was running in front of me and tripped over the brick pavers. He falls at home outside all the time and usually catches himself, but not today. He was screaming and when I went to pick him up I saw the blood. I did the best I could not to totally freak out. We went back into My Gym to get him cleaned up. He was such a trooper, Mommy on the other hand not so much. We left and I took him to see his Daddy, I felt like the worst Mommy in the world for letting him fall. I was reminded frequently that boys will be boys and this won't be his last busted lip.

Family Day

I took the day off and enjoyed the day with my guys. We enrolled Mayson in My Gym and I wanted to be able to watch him enjoy his first day. My Gym has classes and open play times where we can go to allow for him to run around like crazy during the hot summer months, meet some friends, and enhance his motor skills. Mike will be taking him to his class since I will stil be in school, but when summer comes mommy will get to take him to more than the free plays.

Mayson has no fear... He just runs and climbs on everything there.

Some Bunny Special! Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny found Mayson and of course brought him some goodies. Mommy made him a basket this year that hopefully we can keep and use from year to year. The Easter Bunny brought him a Rex from Toy Story flashlight, that says ROAR when you open it. Mayson was terrified of it. So it had to get put up in the closet.
I was able to get a picture of him sitting by his basket. It was quite the task.

Easter Egg Hunt

Iverson had it's first Family Cookout and Easter Egg Hunt. It was so much to get together with all the families and watch the kids run around and play. Mayson kind of understood what to do, but think he will really enjoy Easter Egg hunts more next year. He had more fun playing with Daddy on the big jungle gym.

First family picture in awhile that we didn't have to take ourselves.

It came!!

While Papaw and Debbie were visiting, we all went to Toys R Us and spent the gift card that they got Mayson for Christmas. We ended up getting a great deal on a climber/slide to put outside for Mayson. They had to order it, and it came in yesterday. We rushed down to Henderson to pick it up so that Mayson could play on it tomorrow when I got home from work. He loves it as you can tell in the pictures.

Thank you Papaw and Debbie!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mayson is blowing kisses, wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!

Just some other pictures of the happy boy.

Mayson is 15 Months Old

I say this every month but I can not believe Mayson is 15 months old. He went to the doctor today for his 15 month well baby check, and she said we an adorable, healthy toddler. Toddler oh my, we have a toddler.

15 Month Milestones

- Mayson weighed in at a whopping 28 pounds, which is in the 90th percentile, and was 31 1/2 inches tall, which is in the 50th to 75th percentile.
- He wears 12-18 months in clothes, which is odd because of his weight, but that is what fits. He also moved up to a size 5 diaper, the 4's were getting to be too tight around those thighs.
- Mayson has four teeth on bottom four teeth on top, and one of his molars in. We all will be a lot happier when those stinking molars come in.
- Walking, climbing, running he is all over the place.
- Mayson has a morning routine of getting out his favorite toys. He usually starts with his bowling set from Sean, then gets out one or all of his golf clubs from Sean.

Such a Stinker

Mayson just makes me laugh all the time. He is so funny, and it amazes me how much he knows. This morning at breakfast, I asked him if he ate the bacon, he said "NO!" Then he started laughing. So then I asked him," Mayson do you want to play ball today?" and he replied "NO!" I then said, "Mayson do you want to go shopping with Amy and Mommy today?" He said,"NO!" Then I asked, "Mayson are you the best baby in the world?" He said, "yeah," and shook his head. He is such a stink.

Playing Hard!

I came home from work yesterday and Mayson had all of his toys strung across the living room. Mayson and Daddy must have played really hard all day.

He pulled out all but one of his drawers, even the bottom book drawer was empty. He was sweet enough to leave it in its cube.

Every night before bed we clean up all of his toys, last night Mayson even helped.

Playing Outside!

We have been blessed with some very nice weather. Mayson loves being outside running around. The temperature was in the 70's today, so we took full advantage and played outside. We had the front door open and Mayson went up and down the front step about 100 times. It wore him out, and he was able to get a really good nap in this afternoon. I tried out a new setting on my camera which didn't turn out too well, but I was able to get a few good pictures of Mayson running around.

We have a Climber!

Well we pushed our couches against the wall in hopes to keep Mayson from climbing up on our leaning bookshelves. Well that goal was accomplished but he now has figured out how to climb up on the couches. This is his new game. He climbs up, he rolls off, he climbs up, he runs across all of the couches, he climbs up on the arms and bangs on the window. It wears both him and Mommy and Daddy out.

I went outside and took this picture, Mayson gave me a kiss :)

He finally lays down...

Say Cheese!

Mayson has learned to say Cheese when he is getting his picture taken. This is the outcome of a CHEESE!!

Mayson is cutting 3 molars right now. He has one already in, and these 3 have been very hard on him. His poor face is so chapped right now from having his fingers in his mouth.

Christmas Books, Cook Books, and Feet Books!

Mayson LOVES books. I am not a big reader so I am really trying to encourage him to like books. Mayson and I will read before bed, read throughout the day, and he will "read" on his own. He will go and grab books from his shelves and just sit down and flip through the pages. I love to listen to him jabber while he flips through the pages. The other day while I was cleaning the kitchen, Mayson was going through the cabinets and drawers, because he is into EVERYTHING. He finally is able to open the heavy bottom draw with all of the cook books. He pulled out a cook book and drug it all over the kitchen and dining room. I hope his love for reading continues.

Mayson's Room Needs a Change

Hopefully, in the next month or so I will be painting Mayson's room. Since we didn't know if he was going to be a boy or a girl, we did a neutral wall color and bedding. Ever since he was born I have been wanting to change it to be more boyish. Mayson got a new tv for Christmas and it got hung up last weekend. Now I really feel like it needs an update. He has this nice

Hopefully I will be able to tackle the project soon.

Papaw Aslinger Visits!

Before the weather got bad in the midwest, Papaw was able to come out for a few days. Papaw spoiled us all while he was here. I got the night off from cooking a few times, which was so nice, Mike got to play golf and cards, and Mayson was the center of attention. Papaw also bought Christmas and Birthday gifts. The boys were able to spend the days playing and hanging out while, I worked.

Go Southern Go!

Papa and Debbie got Mayson a very cute SIU outfit for Christmas. I was so excited that SIU was going to be on tv out in Vegas, so Mayson and I got all decked out is our marroon and white to watch the game. Here are a few cute pictures of him cheering!

Let's call Papa and talk about the game!

Mayson's 1st Haircut

Well it was time to cut off Mayson's rat tail.

A friend of mine, Erin, cuts hair and said she would come to the house to cut Mayson's hair and mine. I thought Mayson would feel more comfortable at home, sitting in his high chair, watching his favorite tv show, and enjoying a snack. It worked. He was such a good boy. He wanted to know what was going on back there so he did move around a little but he was pretty happy holding his own comb, eating his snacks and enjoying Blue's Clues.

An Amazing Day Off!

I love having Monday's off and today was a great day! We received a text from my brother Nick that they were on their way to the hospital. We waited around the day anxiously to see if we would be welcoming a new baby girl or boy to the Hoskins family. Nick called a little after 9 and let us know that Violet Kathleen Hoskins was born, and that Lori and her were doing great. Violet was 10 pounds 1 ounce and 21 1/2 inches long. I have been very busy already making her bows, and can't wait for her first tutu.

We also were able to enjoy the wonderful weather that we have had in Las Vegas.

I have a new baby cousin! YAY!

14 Months Old

Mayson is now a wild and crazy 14 month old. It seems like we just had his birthday party the other day.
14 Month Milestones
- Mayson weighs a little over 26 pounds and is almost 31 inches long.
- He is still wearing size 4 diapers but needs to be moved to a 5 soon I think.
- Mayson wears 12-18 month clothing. Usually 12 months in pants, and 18 months in shirt, he has a little pop belly.
- As you can tell from his weight Mayson loves his food. He eats everything we do and sometimes more of it. Some of his favorite foods are all types of potatoes, meats and breads. He loves his bananas for breakfast and will eat his fruits for snacks too. He is a little pickier when it comes to veggies. He loves tomatoes, carrots, and anything that is topped cheese.
- Mayson’s top molars popped through this week, the bottom ones are still stuck in there
- Mayson is quite the busy body. He is into EVERYTHING! He climbs on everything, so we had to rearrange the living room.
- He loves his toys, which are overflowing our house now. We used some of our Christmas money to buy a shelf to store all of his toys. He loves playing catch with his Daddy, being chased by Sadie, and sitting and reading his books. He really loves the remote control and our cell phones.
- He is such a talkative little guy. I caught him holding his hand up to his ear “talking on the phone,” the other day when I was on the phone with his Papaw Hoskins. He says tickle, bye, hi, no, and ow. He gives the best kisses good-bye! We are still working on sigh language for more, he will sometimes do it when we ask, but usually just gets mad and wants more now. He is on the second dvd of Your Baby Can Read, and is able to do some of the actions.

Another Weekend Came and Went

The weekends just seem like they are never long enough. We had a busy weekend. I spent Friday night finishing up some last minute touches on Jordan's birthday outfit. Saturday we went to her 1st birthday party. I had a class on Saturday morning so we were a little late. I didn't get any pictures of the party, but it was so cute. Amy does such an amazing job with parties. She did not leave out a single Minne Mouse detail. It was a nice day finally, so Mayson enjoyed playing outside. He enjoyed it so much that he threw a few little fits when we tried to bring him back inside. I can not wait to get our backyard done so we can play outside all spring.
