Poor Mayson

This past weekend poor Mayson broke out in a rash. It was so strange how it came about. Friday it started with a few spots, I gave him some Benadryl and it went away so I didn't worry much about it. He woke up Saturday and it was a little worse than on Friday . Another dose of Benadryl and it went away. Sunday he woke up and it was terrible!! I didn't give him anything and said we are going to quick care. They said it was just an allergic reaction to something, but to what? We never really figured out what it was but hopefully it won't come back.

Along with his rash he got a really nice bump on his face from playing with his friend, Jackson. Boys will be boys.

1 month old

I can't believe it has already been one month! This has been such a busy month. In Makynzie's 30 days she has had at least one of her grandparents here for 24 of those days. It has been so great having an extra set of hands around since Mike is working so much.

Makynzie's 1 Month Milestones
• Our tall skinny girl went to the doctor today for her well baby check. She weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces. That is in the 25th to 50th percentile. That is what Mayson weighed at birth :). She also was 21 3/4 inches long, which is in the 75th to 90th percentile.
• Makynzie is still wearing newborn clothes and diapers. Mommy is making her tons of bows to go with all the cute outfits that she is going to be in hopefully soon.
• She is nursing every 3 to 4 hours right now, but would eat more often if I would let her.
• We are still working on sleeping. She takes a really long nap usually during the middle of the day. We are working on Mayson taking a nap during that time so Mommy has a chance to breathe. At night she has been sleeping for stretches of 3 to 4 hours. She sleeps in her pack play and nap nanny, but her favorite is curled up on mommy in the rocking chair.
• Makynzie enjoys her swing, but would much rather be cuddled up with Mommy. I don't mind, but Mayson does.
• Mayson is adjusting to her a little more each day. He will come over and say take her, and will want to hold her. He will even name all of her little body parts.

Hospital Pictures

A company came around at the hospital to take pictures of Makynzie. The lady did an excellent job and got some really cute pictures. Here is the website, customer number/password.

Doctor Visits

Makynzie and I both had to go to the doctor today. Newborn check for Makynzie and to get my staples removed. Dr. Kneesel was pleased in how my incision looked and said he would see me back in a week for another check. Makynzie saw Dr. Alazard since Dr. Hyun was out of he office. Her weight was up an ounce to 7 pounds 3 ounces and was measuring 20 1/4 inches long. Our tall and skinny girl is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75-90th for height. Dr. Alazard was so great with Makynzie and even asked about how big brother was adjusting. Back in a week for her 2 week appointment.
Busy day, she is zonked!

Picture Day!

We headed down to Nelson, NV to take a few maternity pictures and family pictures. Kristin Wilson did an amazing job dealing with my crabby I don't want my picture taken son. Here are a few of my favorites.

Daddy and Makynzie

Her hands maybe small but she already has him wrapped around her little finger!

Mayson Meets His Little Sister

We were not sure how this was going to go over. How do you explain to a 2 year old that he is going to have a baby sister? Through out my pregnancy Mayson would point to my belly and say baby, sissy and sometimes he would say a bubby and a sissy. Thank goodness he was only right with the sissy. Just one baby was enough for us. Well he loved meeting Makynzie. He wanted to hold her, take her he would say, and would point at all of her features. He thought he was pretty hot stuff walking around in his Big Bro shirt.

Delivery Day

Sunday I began having contractions but after heading to bed they went away. So I woke up the next morning and headed to work. After being at work for a few hours my contractions came back. Well my doctor said 5-7 minutes apart for 2 hours. So they started at 10:30 and by 12 they were around 7 minutes apart. Mike was already on his way to pick me up for lunch and I was pretty sure I was door coming back after lunch. I finished up a few things and then headed to find my principal. I let her know that I wasn't going to be coming back after lunch and baby Aslinger was going to be making their arrival this afternoon. . Well Mike picked me up and I headed home for a nap hoping maybe would go away like they did the day before. Well while I was napping Mike ran some errands, of course I was not prepared. He got home and they were closer to 5 minutes apart. Well we decided to head to the hospital. We got there and my doctor was already on her way over for another scheduled c-section that went into labor early. So we got there around 2 and she took me to the OR at 4:30ish. Okay here we go we finally are going to find out of baby Aslinger is a girl or boy. Dr. Kneesel pulled the baby out and Mike leaned down and said you are going to have to decide on how to spell HER name! We were both on tears and disbelief we couldn't believe we had a baby GIRL!

Makynzie Reese Aslinger

I am so excited to finally get a chance to post about the arrival of our baby girl. Makynzie was born on April 23rd at 4:42pm. She weight 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 inches long. Makynzie is named after my great Aunt Evelyn (her maiden name was Mckenzie) and my grandpa Kenny. Makynzie means son of Kenneth. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful and healthy baby girl.
