Happy 4th of July!

Oh what a day! Makynzie went through both of her 4th of July outfits before 9 am and Mayson cried for 3 hours. He had a really rough day and we still don't know what was bothering him. Soon as his daddy got home he was fine and you would have never know that he had been so upset. We just hung out around the house and watched the fireworks from our front yard. Mike actually had the night off first time in three years.

I was able to get a few pictures before she spit up and then said forget it an just left her in a diaper cover.

Craigslist's Obsessed

So recently I have become obsessed with Craigslist. My obsession began when I was able to find the stroller I wanted for half the price and if was brand new. After the major bargain I was hooked.

We had a friend moved into a new apartment and he needed furniture, so I was able to sell him some of the things we were not using anymore including my kitchen table. This was a great excuse to get something smaller and find a craft cabinet. When we found out we were pregnant with Makynzie I lost my office/craft room. All my crafts were loved into my closet, making it nearly impossible to craft. I found an armoire that was perfect, it even has a fold out desk for more work space.

My next purchase was for Makynzie. Makynzie doesn't have a closet in her room. I didn't think it would be a big deal but having to go into Mayson's room to get her stuff was a pain. Especially when he is napping and I need something. Makynzie has her Great Great Evelyn's dresser. I painted it obj it's so cute! I was able to find a armoire that is the same brand and has a similar style as her dresser. The lady didn't really want to split the set but when I gave her the heartfelt story of why I wanted it she did. Mike of course did the negotiating on the price, I am terrible with that part.
My last purchase was a kitchen table. After I sold mine Mike told me I could get a new one. Well trying to find one for a good price and that we both liked was hard. I just happen to stumble on one that was similar to the one he wanted to to buy a few years ago for an amazing almost too good to be true price. We got there to look and I was afraid for the price it was going to be on bad shape. I was wrong. There were a few bumps and scratches but they are hardly noticeable. The lady was so nice she threw in two more chairs.
I am suppose I be done with Craigslist but I love looking and finding new projects.

Family Trip to Bass Pro

Typically going to Bass Pro is a Daddy and Mayson activity but this time Makynzie and I joined them. Mayson would spend hours in there if we would let him. Here are a few pictures of him enjoying Bass Pro and one of Makynzie showing how much she enjoyed the trip.

He loves watching the scuba divers clean the tank.
Learning how to shoot the targets.  The only gun he will have for a long time.

2 months old

Makynie is 2 months old!
- Makynzie weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces and was 22 3/4 long. She is in the 50-75th percentile for both height and weight.
- She is wearing 3 month clothes, but pants and shorts are still a little bit big on her.
- She is wearing a size 1 diaper and has slowed down a little on how many we change a day. She still hates to be wet or dirty.
- Makynzie is starting to be so expressive. She has the funniest facial expressions. We can get her really cooing when we tickle under her neck.
- Sleeping is going so much better since she moved into her own room in her crib. She eats around 10:30 and sleeps usually till around 7:30. Now only if we could get big bother to sleep in life would be good.

It's HOT, HOT, HOT!

Temperatures are well over 100 degrees everyday now so we try to play on the morning and in the late evening. Mayson LOVES being outside! We have had to install a lock at the top of door since he knows know to unlock the deadbolt. I also had to lock the gate because he has figured out how to get out and him and Sadie running he neighborhood and me chasing isn't fun! Trust me one time was enough to find that out. Makynzie enjoys being put too, I think its actually because I an holding her. I am ready to buy a pool so we can cool off in this heat.
Zonked.

He loves going down the slide.
Hopefully our backyard will be done soon, and he will have some grass.

31 months old!

That sounds so crazy! Mayson is just a little over 2 1/2 years old and I haven't update anyone on his milestones for awhile.
• Mayson weighs 39 pounds and 8 ounces and a little over 39 inches tall. He is in over 95th percentile for both height and weight.
• Mayson wears a 4t shirt and 3t pants. We will be buying 5t and 4t for anything new though. He has almost grown out of his size 10 shoes too.
• He has really started talking a lot lately. Repeating everything you say and ask him to say. He can name shapes, tell you colors, count to 20 (he misses some numbers but he is close), he knows most of his animals, knows all his body parts, he can identify some letters and he tries to sing his ABCs.
• His favorites are cars, baseball, golf playing outside and wrestling with Sadie. His favorite colors are orange and blue. He loves dinosaurs and being loud! He loves fruit: strawberries, bananas, grapes, watermelon, pretty much everything. Veggies are still a no go, sometimes he will eat corn (does that even count).

Every day his personality grows and he learns new things. He is so much fun most of the time considering he is on those wonderful terrible twos.

Shopping, Splash pads, Sweets and Sharks!

We had a fun filled weekend full of alliterations. Two teachers, two toddlers, 4 M's, 2 J's, and lots of S's. Jodi, Jayden and Madeline came out to visit and I couldn't have been more excited. For having two toddlers and a one month old and different schedules from two different time zones I think we managed pretty well. The girls got some shopping done and the boys got to play. I can't wait to live closer so our kids can play more often. Thanks for coming to visit Jodi, we miss you guys!
